Welcome to
The Ladybird Foundation

The Ladybird Foundation was set up to provide joy and relief to terminally, critically or seriously ill children based in the Maltese islands. Funds collected will be used to give these children and their families the opportunity (sometimes the last opportunity) to go on vacation together or otherwise spend quality time with each other. We will try to give children the chance to turn their dreams into reality, e.g. going to Disneyland, going to watch their favourite football team or fulfilling any other dream they may have. All expenses will be covered and the travel arrangements will be organised in a way that ensures that the child has access to all necessary medical assistance. We estimate that each vacation or wish will cost around €4,000, including expenses for the ill child together with at least their immediate family. The cost cannot compare with the joy that may be experienced by the child and family in such difficult circumstances. The Foundation will receive advice regarding beneficiary families from consultants and specialists in the various fields of paediatrics. This collaboration will be instrumental in ensuring that cases are genuine. The Ladybird Foundation was established in April 2012 and has been registered as an NGO (VO/0661). It is an independent, public and non-profit making foundation.

  • Dreams do come true

“I would like to thank The Ladybird Foundation for making my son’s dream come true… Everything was so well organised. I am so happy that a Foundation like this exists. They do their very best to make a wish come true for a child who has been through hell and back, operation after operation… There is nothing nicer in life than to see that special smile on a child’s face, especially a child who is passing through a tough time in this world.” Mother of a child supported by The Ladybird Foundation
