What made you sign up for the Nivea 5X5 Challenge?

I’ve always wanted to take part in a Charity Challenge for a Good Cause, and a couple of weeks ago i was contacted by Dorian J.Vassallo asking me if i’m up for the Nivea 5X5 Challenge to Kayak instead of Tony Vella who has a back injury and I gladly accepted.

Have you ever attempted such a distance before? 

So far I have Trekked the Inca Trail which is a 43K Knee straining and Breath taking trek to Macchu Picchu in Peru’ and Kayaked 40K from the SeaKats Kayaking Club in Marsamxett to Marsaxlokk and Back which is still abit far from 75K.

What are your thoughts as you look forward to the challenge ahead? 

The first thing that comes to mind is the Cause behind this all. The Children and Families from The Ladybird Foundation to which we will be dedicating all the fatigue we will be passing though whilst Kayaking for 15hrs. Hopefully as a team we will be prepared for all elements possible from hot and dry to windy ones during our time on the Sea.
